Jaw crushers are machines used for primary and secondary hard material crushing. They use compressive force to reduce the size of raw materials and according to the feeding spread, they can be divided into large, medium and small sized. These machines are designed for heavy- duty applications, however different types of jaw crushers uses different methods to crush the materials and are used for different purposes. Each jaw crush has a specific feeding size, which basically represent the size of the material that the machine is capable to crush in smaller pieces.
Jaw crushers can be used, in departments of mining, construction and demolition field, to reduce the size or large materials such as concrete, stones etc. and are considered the most essential part of the quarrying process as they are simply the most efficient machine to crush rocks.
Typical jaw crushers are consisted of a pair of vertical jaws, one movable and the other fixed, which moves back and forth; a crushing chamber, that is the cavity between the two jaws; a gape, a wide opening at the top of the positioned jaws; a thin outflow opening at the bottom, that can be set to achieve the desired output size. The raw material is gradually crushed, becoming smaller and smaller as it travels downward the outflow opening.
Jaw crushers machines work on a simple principle, allow the input of a wide variety of raw feed material, offer reliable operation, and an incredible versatility, What’s more, their lubrication system have an outstanding performance and maintenance is very simple. They cost less energy, compared to other crushers, and cause less environmental problems such as less noise and dust.
Since many sizes and models are available on the market, choosing the right jaw crane, that will best suit your needs, will involve some factors such as, the type of feed material, the expected productivity and the desired aggregate size. Also buying a jaw crane may seem expensive, but a right type of equipment can improve productivity making it a very cost effective investment.

What Is A Ball Mill And How Does It Works
The ball
mill is one of the most commonly used
grinding machines in the field of chemical engineering. It is
generally used for crushing and grinding different kinds of
materials, such as ores, chemical compounds and other similar
materials. There are different ball mill models on the market, but
generally two types of ball mills are used: batch ball mill and
continuous ball mill. The focus in the following text will be on
explaining what exactly is a ball mill, its principles and how the
ball mill works.
The ball mill is described as efficient machine for grinding different materials and turning them into fine powder. Usually, the ball mill is designed with a rotating cylindrical shell. The shell rotates around its own axis. The grinding process is performed by small balls which are placed inside the cylindrical shell. These small balls are known as grinding media and are made from stainless steel. Some ball mill models on the market use rubber balls as a grinding media. The cylindrical shell where the materials are being crushed into fine powder is made from abrasion resistant material.
The working principle of the ball mill is quite simple: as the cylindrical shell rotate around its own axis, the balls fall back and hit the materials. This way, the grinding media grind the materials and turn them into fine powder. The rotation speed of the cylindrical shell in most ball mill models is between 10 to 20 revolution per minute. The diameter of the shell determines the speed of the rotation. If the diameter is bigger, the rotation is slower and vice versa. If the ball mill rotates too fast, it acts like a centrifuge. When this happen, the ball mill doesn't works as it should, because the balls inside the cylindrical shell don't fall back, but instead remain on the perimeter of the cylindrical shell. The ball mill acts like a centrifuge when it reaches the so called critical speed. The standard ball mill models work at 65% to 75% of their critical speed.
The ball mill provides many benefits and advantages, such as low costs for installation and quick and efficient operation. This machine is suitable for batch and continuous operations. In addition, the ball mill is ideal machine for open and closed grinding applications. Beside the standard ball mill which is heavily utilized in different industry sectors, there is another model which is called a planetary ball mill. This model comes with smaller size when compared with the standard ball mill, and it is generally used for grinding applications in laboratories.

Roll Crusher Explained
Roll crusher is a specific type of
heavy-duty equipment and is widely used in industrial and mining
processes. A common roller crusher consists a couple of big
cylinders, positioned on a horizontal axis. Between these two
cylinders, the raw materials are being crushed in small pieces. So,
the roll crusher is suitable to a broad range of applications and
most suitable to coal mining, concrete recycling and mineral
production applications.
A typical roll crusher is consisted of two cylinders, both featuring a ceramic or steel finish. Above the two rollers, there is a hopper that drops the materials down through the gap between the cylinders. To crush the materials, the rolling cylinders rotate in opposite directions and so smash the materials between as they fall downwards. The friction between the cylinders efficiently crushes any material, then falls down into a so-called collection bin. But prior any use, the contractors must adjust the space between the rolling cylinders in order to get the desired size of the crushed particles.
The roll crusher surface is usually smooth, but some models feature a textured surface. That depends on the application; for crushing more delicate materials (metals, minerals, etc.), smooth roll crusher surface is most suitable, while for crushing rocks and similar heavy materials, textured surface is recommended. Some applications can not be efficiently carried out with a double roll crusher. However, there is a way to carry out such application using a roll crusher with four cylinders. A four-cylinder roll crusher takes a material to pass through the first two cylinders first, and then into the second pair of cylinders, mounted just below the first pair. The second pair of cylinders is used for crushing the materials once again, in order to achieve a better and finer product.
Four-cylinder roll crushers have a very simple and compact design, which contributes to very small maintenance costs. Also, they effectively produce materials of same size, in order to make the rest of the production process easier. The roll crusher might be the most cost-efficient unit for processing small loads of materials, but it surely is not a good choice for large production capacity. The roll crusher surface is not made from heavy-duty materials, which means it can easily get damaged by some abrasive or rough material, leading to expensive repair or part replacement.
So, when considering a roll crusher, the prospective operators must think about the total production capacity of the unit they expect. Also, they need to consider the size, the abrasiveness and the roughness of the materials they will process with the roll crusher.
